Base Notes are the fragrances that solidifies the whole perfume. It ties very well with the middle note which enhances the scent even more. Base notes have the heaviest fragrances such as vanilla, amber, sandalwood, musk, etc. These deep and rich scents can overpower or blend with all of the other fragrances of the perfume. It is the one that ties up the perfume into one. Depending on the character of the perfume, the base notes allow the perfume to last from 4 hours to several days. The drydown is the process wherein all the fragrances come out as one. Since the smell of the fragrances change in an hour or so, drydown will determine how well the perfume blends in with the person’s skin chemistry. Perfumers also add aromatic components, or fixatives, to establish the longevity of the perfume. See even more information at best attraction Sentosa.
The treetop walk at MacRitchie Reservoir is a big project and a pioneer of its genre in Singapore. Standing 25 metres high and at 250 metres long, the wooden walkway bridge gives you the opportunity to see Singapore in a different way: without one tall building in sight – just a fantastic panoramic view of the forest with its many interesting animals. It takes at least 3 hours to fully enjoy the treetop walk at a distance of around 7 km. Gardens by the Bay is a huge, colourful, futuristic park in the bay area of Singapore; and has won countless architecture awards. The famous Supertree structures offer an impressive skywalk over the gardens, over-sized seashell-shaped greenhouses recreate chilly mountain climates and there are hundreds of trees and plants to discover, making this destination great fun for both kids and adults.
With 28 awe-inspiring hectares to explore, it’s unlikely that you’ll be able to cover Singapore Zoo in its entirety in a day. But you give it a good go. Unlike traditional zoos, which keep its animals in cages, this place was the first in the world to implement the ‘open concept’, which has animals in individually landscaped enclosures. There are more than 4,000 animals to see across 11 zones, including Wild Africa, Primate Kingdom and Frozen Tundra. Visit the world’s largest captive colony of orangutans, feed the friendly Asian elephants and see the rare white tiger.

Other gifts suggestion: Another homegrown Singapore brand, TWG Tea has established cafes and stores worldwide, 12 of which are in Singapore. There is a TWG Tea outlet in every terminal at Changi Airport too. Apart from the stores in the country’s airport, the remaining outlets are in the Central Business District, so finding one wouldn’t be a hassle. Just a heads up, ready some cash as their products are quite pricey! Stop by their café for a cuppa and you might find yourself leaving with bags of their products. You can find a plethora of tea flavours, either in the form of tea bags or loose tea leaves (from SGD 10). We recommend purchasing the tea taster collection, which contains a variety of their bestselling tea flavours such as English Breakfast Tea and Jasmine Queen Tea. Disclaimer: TWG Tea cafes are not halal-certified so do purchase their products at your own discretion.

Ancient Chinese medicine philosophy, known as the “qi” was discovered by the Yellow Emperor, father of Chinese medicine. It explores the body’s capacity to heal itself. Today’s medicines have many forms of complementary and alternative medical practices to help relieve pain. These alternative medicines have turned to the medicinal benefits of orchids discovered ages ago. See more info at Scentopia.
