Let’s talk about the best places where a wildlife photographer can get the maximum inspiration. Galapagos Islands, Ecuador: If you are wildlife enthusiast then this is for sure that Galapagos Islands is undeniably on your bucket list. With its vivid marine life around the 29 islands, this place has become very popular with the people. This place is also called a unique ‘living museum and showcase of evolution’. You will definitely get that perfect shot of the Galapagos here. Due to the volcanic activity and the ongoing seismic process this island gave birth to the unusual marine life of this island. One can also find land iguana, the giant tortoise, and the many types of finch. So, guys this island is a must visit for you along with your lenses.
Uganda: Did you know mountain gorillas sleep in nests? If you don’t believe us, then join a wildlife photography holiday to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park and see for yourself. Porters carry your kit, but you need to be in decent physical shape as some trekking is necessary – man’s closest cousin changes his sleeping location every night. A steady hand is useful – it’s not unknown for gorillas to take an interest in their visitors and come up for a closer look.
The painting is entitled “DON’T WALK, WALK!”. Completed in May of 2012, using acrylic paints, it depicts an inquisitive Grevy’s Zebra from a herd at Chester Zoo. The image is based upon my own digital photograph. It is professionally framed to exhibition standards with a solid natural beech frame. The entire piece measures 2′ (63cm) wide by 3′ (92cm) high. Due to it’s size and that its framed with glass, this painting is only available for collection. Find even more details at Wildlife Mugs.
Supporting conservation programmes through my art and products! I have recently launched my first products that are supporting conservation programmes worldwide! I have wanted to make this move for a long time but unfortunately hadn’t gotten around to it. As I come to the end of my BSc Degree in Wildlife Conservation I wanted to make this shift at the start of this year, and so from this year forward, every product I launch will in some way be supporting charities, projects, or campaigns that are rescuing animals from hurtful human activities, campaigning to improve national and international government wildlife or environmental-based policies, and those that are allowing wildlife and their environments to thrive through their efforts!
Following on from my A’Levels, I was awarded a place at Staffordshire University, UK, to study Fine Art, and decided to defer my degree until 2014 so that I could travel to the Far East during my gap year. Whilst in Thailand in early 2014, I had the wonderful opportunity to volunteer at Kanchanaburi Safari & Rescue Centre, taking care of their orphaned and rescued animals. One piece, completed on location over 20 hours, to portray the celebration of HM The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee and the city of Liverpool. Read additional info on www.vlgstudios.com.
